Common Shoulder Injuries:
Rotator Cuff injuries
- Is a group of muscles that are responsible for the rotation of the shoulder.
- These muscle(s) are most commonly injured through overhead based work, falls, and sports.
- Pain at night, reaching overhead, and feeling limited in motion are often signs of rotator cuff injuries.
Bicep Tendonitis
- Is the tendon that attaches the bicep muscle to the shoulder.
- Most common symptoms are tenderness with motion, weakness, and pain in the shoulder
Shoulder Impingement
- The muscle and tendons of the shoulder become irritated and inflamed.
- Individuals with shoulder impingement often will notice lack of shoulder mobility, pain with shoulder movement, and tenderness with pressure.
Common Elbow Injuries:
Golfer’s Elbow/ Medial Elbow Epicondylitis
- A condition with medial/inside portion of the elbow pain.
- Caused by micro tears of the tendons on the inside portion of the elbow.
- Often times you will feel pain at the inside portion of the elbow, pain with turning the wrist (turning a door knob/car steering wheel).
Tennis Elbow/ Lateral Epicondylitis
- This condition is similar to golfer's elbow, however pain will be on the outside portion of the elbow.
- Caused by the tendons and muscles having micro tears due to overuse.
- Experience pain on the outside portion of the elbow, weakened or decreased grip, and or pain with rotation of the wrist
